Prohibition Tour

Price: $35

Location: Midtown

Start Times: 4pm

Description: Hosted by Rory: New York has always beckoned me, and I often feel as though I embody the ongoing narrative that the city draws us ever deeper into. So, walk with me as I retrace the immigrant progress toward the American Dream during Prohibition. As a master of the art of storytelling, I’ll guide you into one of New York's last-standing 1920s speakeasies and tell the tale of the period’s most notorious gangsters and infamous bootleggers. At our second location, we’ll explore the catalysts behind Prohibition and focus on the women of the Gilded Age, and the movement that gave rise to an oil king. To round off our journey together, I’ll take you to one of New York's oldest bars and former speakeasies where we’ll discuss both the sudden demise of Prohibition.

Williamsburg Dive Bar Crawl

Price: $40

Location: Brooklyn

Start Times: 7pm

Description: Hosted by Bar Buds: Welcome to Williamsburg, the place so legendary for starting the hipster movement that there is no longer a single hipster that can afford to live there anymore.  Well, not a real one anyway.  The new hipsters are so mainstream.  You wouldn’t get it.

What you will get is a crash course in some of the best dive bars to find on this side of East River.  You’ll experience stickers on bathroom walls, free food, backyards (weather permitting because come on nobody wants to freeze), photo booths, and as many shot and beer specials as your heart desires.  If you really want to class it up, you may even find yourself throwing back a pickleback with the Buds themselves.  After all, as the great Abraham Lincoln once said, “a good bud never turns down a pickleback".
