At Santos Party House, "party" is the operative word. Any and all are welcome at this two-level music venue, centrally located in downtown Manhattan (it straddles Chinatown and Tribeca). Blurring the lines between music and art culture, the venue is designed to function as a concert hall, dance club, and lounge, but co-owner Andrew W.K. even used it as the backdrop for his wedding. Meanwhile, co-owner Spencer Sweeney has realized his dream of using Santos as a one-night-only blank canvas for artists; his Spencer's Gifs on Friday nights in the club's lower level has attracted the work of Urs Fischer and received a Paper Magazine nod for Best New Party in their 7th Annual Nightlife Awards.
