Tammany Hall is a 350-capacity, multi-level lounge and live-music venue located on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Few places are this democratic; depending on the night, the place can be an indie-rock hall, club-kid dance party, vintage speakeasy or slick bottle-service lounge. The main room boasts a 20-foot-long bar, HD projector and movie-theater screen, along with a modular stage for DJs and bands. (Notable past performers include Oh Land, Drake, Q-Tip, Just Blaze, Wellington Papers, The Dance Party, Kordan, Crayon Fields, A Classic Education, Blackbird Blackbird and Rye Rye.) A mezzanine level offers a birds-eye view of the entire venue. Folks looking for a more relaxed hang head downstairs to kick back on the retro furniture. Outfitted with a state-of-the-art sound system, full bar and its own separate entrance, this subterranean cell calls to mind a Prohibition-era drinking den and is tailor-made for an intimate DJ set or wild private party.
